Match Report 2004/5

Meadhurst Vets vs Imperial College  Won 2-1  (HT 1-0)

Sunday 21st November Away

Funny place the Imperial College Sports Ground these days. The pitches are reserved entirely for Chelsea training and you have the opportunity of being run over by mad Russians in blacked out limo's. We played on what must be the best artificial pitch ever and despite having Jack in goal looked well worth our 1-0 lead at half time. Don's left foot shot was too hot to handle for the keeper (on a damp skiddy surface) and he fumbled it into the goal. This was the only mistake he made however making a particularly good second half save from Dick's perfectly struck shot. The second half started ominiously like the Spellthorne game with Meadhurst a little tired and picking up some injuries as the typically robust Imperial College approach to the game took its toll. However Imperial aren't as good as Spellthorne when it comes to it and were confined to one real chance - kindly converted for them by Fozzy (og). This caused Meadhurst to perk up a bit and a long ball over the top saw an injured but very deterrmined Nipper run on to it, take the ball round the keeper and slot it into the net. With more accuracy in the passing Meadhurst could have added a couple more as Imperial pushed forward to get the equaliser but once again it was a slightly relieved Meadhurst that made to the upstairs bar to watch the an Imperial girls team playing below.

Match Report 2002/3

Oh dear the triangular tournament with Imperial College and Barcelona did not go well. We spent the entire game in the Imperial half but couldn't score. They spent 2 minutes in our half and to all intents and purposes we scored an own goal. We scored an actual own goal in the next game. We breezed the first half (1-0) but conceded 3 in the second to lose 3-1. Miserable

Team for Sunday vs Imperial Away

An unexpected lost 3-0 against Imperial.  85 mins in their half, our goalkeeper dies of boredom and we couldn't even buy a goal. A questionable penalty and two well executed breakaways did the rest. Oh hum.
