Match Report 2002/3

Meadhurst made it 2 wins from 2 under stand in manager Dick Brockwell at NPL
Teddington on Sunday. After an early pitch inspection the game was played
out on a near perfect pitch but in windy conditions. The start was delayed
by about 15 minutes while the home team tracked down a kit. Meadhurst
settled into a good rhythm with both Dogger and Fozzy stretching the home
team with runs down both flanks. While Dene, Robin, Mike and Carl all
combined to unsettle the back 4. Halftime was reached 3-0 to the good with
goals by Carl, Mike and Dene (in off the post and keeper).

The 2nd half as usual did not continue in the same vain the balls became
longer and the shape generally disintegrated. A quick move from NPL left
Martin and Moose trailing leaving the centre forward to hit an inch perfect
lob over the advancing Colin, 3-1. An improvement overall lead to Don being
pushed in the box only to confidently crash the penalty straight down the
goalkeepers throat. Dogger put the game out of reach with 10 minutes
remaining.

Highlights of the day, Dons celebration of a well taken goal only to be
called back for offside. The refs insistence that their defender fetch the
ball or "I'll send you off" after a show petulance and Denes lonely vigil
outside on the Meadhurst veranda after being banned from the reception area.
No game Sunday, next game Brentham at home 16th February.

Match Report 2001/2

A very disappointing 2-1 lost to NPL. We went from complacency to desperation without an intervening phase of football and quite frankly deserved the defeat. Jack played for NPL and was surprised how often they (and Meadhurst) passed to him.
